How to overwrite text in master instances ?

Answered Florent Goumy 5 years ago

I created a master for my page header. I'm using this master in every screen of my application and I would like to overwrite the page title on each screen (whitout breaking the master). How can I do that ?

Thanks

There's no easy option to do that in Justinmind yet other than placing a Text on top of it in each screen.

Ok thank you Victor.

I might be misunderstanding the point about masters.

I have a page where I want to list projects cards. I created a master "projet card". And I would like to show 6 cards with differents projects names. Can I do that ?

If there's no easy option yet, do you have any visibility about such a feature in your roadmap ?

Alternatively, you could create an "On Page Load" + "Set Value" event for the title in the master, and change the title depending on which screen you're on, using conditions and variables.

Check out the attached prototype for an example.

I think Masters are pretty useless if their text content cannot be overwritten in the instances.

Anybody that has used Adobe XD or Sketch would think JIM's Masters are like Components in other software, but they are not. That is a big disappointment.

I hope you consider developing Master up to par with the competing software.
