Note from Diane Feldman: In December of 2018, I closed down The Feldman Group, the political polling firm I ran for nearly 30 years. I closed down in part because I believe the way research is conducted for political campaigns needs to change. This blog will address perspectives on public opinion, message, and the challenges and opportunities in emerging alternatives to traditional polling, plus topics of political interest. Since I closed down the firm, I moved to Jackson, Mississippi. Jackson is on the Pearl River and so I named the blog “View from the Pearl” – a reference to the river (not the John Steinbeck classic, the iconic album from Janis Joplin, or the product of the mollusk).
